BATTLE FAQ

What this module can do:

  • Pokemon-like battles (1v1, 2v2, 3v3)

  • Digimon-like battles (single row grid) (the DS Digimon games)

  • Radiant Historia-like battles (side-based grids)

What this module can NOT do:

  • Fire Emblem-like battles (full movement grids)

OTHER FAQ

  • The creatures in the examples are cool! Can I use them in my project?

    • Sure! If you do, all I ask is that you please link back to me in some way! Obviously please don't claim them as your own :) Take good care of them!

  • Do you take feature requests? I thought of something that might work well if added to the module!

    • Absolutely! I would love to hear your ideas, especially when it comes to expanding Abilities, Battle Effects, Battlefield Modifiers, or other effects/triggers.

  • Does this module save different instances of the same creature?

    • Yes! That's a major part of what this module was made for! You can have 2 (or more) instances of the same creature, both with different stats, and each will persist across saves.

  • Can I make an action RPG with this? (Non-turn-based)

    • Probably, but I haven't tried this yet. It would take some custom setup, and I don't have an example set up for this. Perhaps in the future I can be persuaded to support this!

  • I see I need the 2D Animation package from Unity to use this, does that mean it has to be built in 2D?

    • It's geared toward 2D, yes, and I'm not exactly sure how difficult it might be to set up a fully 3D game with this module, but you can always try, and send me suggestions for additions if you're missing anything you need! (Properties, Instructions, Conditions, etc)

  • Can I breed creatures with this module?

    • Yes, but it doesn't support this completely out-of-the-box; you'll have to set up your own mechanics, such as which stats are passed down, if held items have special functions, and etc. There was no way for me to anticipate how people would want breeding mechanics to work, so this has to be built by the designer using GC2.

  • Is this module multiplayer? Can I trade/battle other players?

    • Not yet, but I have plans to make it multiplayer in the future!
